This Weeks Shopping Rundown

I usually do my deals on Mondays or Wednesdays, but that didn't work out for us this week so Ryan and I ran out today to get the shopping done. We did really good. Here is the picture.

$40.51 - the picture does it no justice. Here is the list of goodies.
4 boxes of Frosted Flakes
2 Garnier hair colors
2 Yes To Carrots Lip Balms
4 Flat Earth Chips
2 Bags Pretzels
2 Progresso Broths
4 Progresso Bread Crumbs
4 Wishbone Dressings
2 Bottles Juicy Juice
2 Bottles Glass Plus
4 bags Ritz Wheat Thins Crackers
1 box baking soda
4 Betty Crocker Potato Pouches
5 Boxes South Beach Living Fiber Bars
1 Del Monte Diced Tomatoes
3 Bottles Suave Body Wash
4 Bottles Herbal Essences Shampoo
1 N.Y.C. Lip Gloss
1 N.Y.C. Eye Shadow
4 First Aid Kits
1 Skin Effects Face Wash
2 Natural Dentist Mouth Wash
1 Large Container Maxwell House Coffee
By taking advantage of super deals and matching up coupons with sale prices (gotta love buy one get one frees!) I managed to get my total of $169.66 down to $50.51 (this includes tax).
That is a tremendous savings!
Not only that, but I have a $10 rebate to send in for the Mouth Wash which actually makes my total only $40! WOW!
New Feature:
Saturday's Money Herding Tip -
As a rule, we generally cook and make snacks based on what is in our cupboard. This is just another way we stretch each dollar. We buy when food is cheapest and that is what we eat off of. This has created much variety in our diet and has challenged us to try foods that we normally wouldn't have. Those Flat Earth chips I got today were never something I would have just purchased - but, after trying them today I found that they are the best chips I have ever had! I will definitely keep an eye out for more coupons for those!
There have been very few things we really didn't like. My husband doesn't like Gillette razors and the SoyJoy bars were only so-so, but we have been pleasantly surprised by most of my odd deals.

Which stores did you shop for all this? I just started CVS shopping three weeks ago, also I have been shopping Hy-Vee and Aldi. I am hoping to get better!

I know what you mean about the picture not doing justice -- sometimes I feel that way about my shopping trips as well. It's really the receipt you have to see to appreciate. Great shopping trip!!

1st Carrie -
I Shop at Walgreens, Publix, Walmart, CVS and Winn-Dixie just about weekly. This week we added in Target, too, because of a good chip deal and cheap coffee.
Wish I had an Aldi's!

2nd Carrie -
I love reviewing my receipts after a shopping trip! It really helps to encourage me to keep at it.

Thanks for the comments, ladies!
