Commissary Deals for January 2009

Commissary deals are monthly or bi-monthly and can vary from place to place. For the most part pricing doesn't fluctuate all that much, but the products each store carries can vary quite a bit. I have not personally checked these deals out at my local Commissary so please keep that in mind.

Before I get into the deals I thought I would give a short rundown of Commissary coupon policies. Using coupons at Commissaries is pretty simple. Here are some general rules you need to follow.

• Generally, Commissaries take clipped and printable coupons.
• You cannot stack coupons, meaning you cannot use a manufacturer's coupon with a military coupon. Only one coupon per item. Period.
• You can use multiples of the same coupon provided they are not photocopies and you have one product to go with each coupon. If they even suspect a photocopy they won't allow you to use the coupon.
• The Commissary employees are very careful to read over each coupon and it must match the item. They won't push one through if it is questionable. They just won't accept the coupon altogether.
• If you go in with a large number of coupons be prepared for a slow checkout. Like I said above, they have a tendency to read every coupon. Be patient and plaster a smile on your face.
• Commissaries DO allow overage and for this I am quite pleased. No, they won't give you cash back if you have a negative total but you can use overage towards the rest of your order. I've had $60 purchases go down to under $10 by purchasing items and using coupons that gain me overage.
