Free Apple Workshop For Kids

Apple is hosting a 3 hour work shop this summer for kids! And, the best thing about it is that it's free!
From the website:
This could be the best summer yet.
This summer, your kid could make a movie, create a photo slideshow, write and record a song, put on a show for everyone, and have a blast doing it all. At Apple Camp, kids learn how to do cool stuff on a Mac and discover their hidden talents along the way. Apple Camp occurs at every Apple Retail Store, and each free workshop lasts three hours.
Sign up your kid today and get ready for an adventure.
  • Movie Workshop: Lights. Camera. Action.
  • Music Workshop: Ready to rock?
  • Photo Workshop: Point. Shoot. Share.
  • Presentation Workshop: Take the stage.

Make sure to go here to sign up for the next Lowe's Build & Grow clinic on Saturday, May 23rd. The project is a safety kit.

Lowes provides great freebies during their clinics like aprons, safety goggles, and patches to sew on the apron for every completed project.
My kids love these clinics!

All are welcome to attend and they get a free Lowes apron to take home and a patch to go on it after each completed project!

Where: Your local Lowes building center. Find one here.
Date: 8/23/08
Time: between 10:00 and 11:00 am
Cost: nothing - all build and grow clinics are free.

In the next month they are also building a pirate ship and a fire truck! You can do all of them by simply signing your kids up!

Good FREE Fun for your kids!

Whether you have girls or boys you are sure to have a good time at Home Depot and Lowes FREE children's building workshops.

Go here to learn about Home Depot's free children's program or you can just show up at your local Home Depot on the first Saturday of each month anytime between 9 and 12. This program is available at EVERY Home Depot location and there is no pre-registration required. Your child will get a free Home Depot apron to keep and wear each month and a pin to wear on the apron is awarded for each completed project.

Lowes Build and Grow Clinics are a little different. You must sign up in advance here and show up between 10 and 11 am (unless another time is given for your project) on the Saturday you signed up for. There are a couple Saturdays a month for you to choose from but your time allotment is much more narrow then Home Depot. A Lowes apron is given to your little wood-worker here, too.

Like I said, both are completely free. There are age limits, or age suggestions, but we have learned that as long as you are bringing a child within the appropriate age range the younger ones are welcome to tag along, get an apron, and build something, too.
My husband takes our 4 middle children, ages 3, 5, 7, & 10 to the Home Depot workshop (they call this 'boy time'), and takes them, along with our 13 year old, to the Lowes workshops for 'daddy/kid time'. It is nice break for me and my children love getting special time with dad.

These programs are very easy to attend and work at and generally take about 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on how many children you are bringing. All the tools and supplies are provided free of charge and the finished product is your child's to take home.

Hey, it's free and there is one going on our your local Home Depot this morning!
