Fun Honey Kix giveaway!
Here's a super awesome giveaway! I gave two of these away this week on my other blog and thought I would give one away here, too!General Mills has announced a great new twist on Their Kix cereal!
Honey!
I have to be honest with you. I have never been a fan of Kix cereal. Yeah, I know it wholesome goodness is something I should praise it for but it has definitely lacked in the taste category in my opinion. When I was contacted to taste this new cereal and host a giveaway on my blog I was skeptical to say the least about how much I would enjoy the taste.
I received the host's package in record time and I was excited to open it up and take a look at the goodies inside. The honey pot is simply adorable, and the on-the-go bowl will come in very handy.
The Kix box was brightly colored and eye catching with a honey drizzler in the top corner. The 'Kid Tested, Mother Approved' label still runs across the middle. Although it looks incredibly similar to the original Kix box it is different enough to keep me from getting confused in the cereal isle.
We decided to open the Kix right away and have a dry sample. I heard a lot of "me, too?s" behind me as each of my children waited to have their taste.
I am happy to admit that I was wrong! Honey Kix are surprisingly delicious! Not only did I enjoy them, my kids have taken a liking to them, as well.
I didn't just think they were okay, I have found myself going back to the box for little snacks throughout the day. At least they aren't horribly bad for you like most of my snacks (think chocolate and caramel).
Kix doesn't have that stuff in them but are pleasantly and perfectly sweetened. Yes, these Kix do contain sugar, 6 grams worth, but I find it to be a much healthier alternative to the common sweetened breakfast cereal buffet.
General Mills has generously donated some fun prize packages for 1 lucky winner. This is no doubt one of the most adorable gift sets I have had to give away. Like I said before, the honey pot is super cute!
Each prize package includes:
- A coupon for a free box of Honey Kix cereal
- A honey jar with drizzler
- A set of colorful cereal bowls
- a container to take your cereal and milk on-the-go
- A great container to keep cereal fresh at home.

FREE Cereal Voucher Giveaway
UPDATE: The Winner Is Elissa!
Elissa, I don't have your email so please contact me with your address here.
I ran across a coupon for a free box of General Mills Cocoa Puffs Combos cereal tonight. It is an unclaimed leftover from a previous giveaway on my other blog that I hosted many months ago. So, I thought I would give it away to one of my readers here.
When I first hosted the giveaway I gave a complete review of the product. I am just going to copy and paste a bit of that here so that you have an idea of what my family thought of this new cereal.
Cocoa Puffs Combos are one of the newest cereals out and they. are. good.
My 6 children and I tried them over the weekend and we ate almost two boxes of them!
As you can probably tell from the box Cocoa Puffs Combos look quite similar to Cocoa Puffs. That is because they are. The same little bird, Sonny, is on the front and the box is brown, too. Traditional Cocoa Puffs are round balls of puffed corn that have a sweet, somewhat chocolaty cocoa flavor. Cocoa Puffs Combos are a little different. Added in with those same round dark brown puffs are round yellowish puffs with a definite vanilla flavor.
My kids and I poured our bowls and added the milk. We had just grocery shopped the day before and a couple of them really wanted to eat a different cereal I had picked up but they settled for the Combos without complaint. After the first bite, however, they were all about this new cereal and wanted more. My 3 year old even asked for it for lunch and dinner - both to which I said 'no'.
After we all ate some I asked what they liked about the Cocoa Puffs Combos. Here are the pros they gave me along with some of my thoughts.
I am going to run this giveaway for a week and then randomly choose one winner. If you want to enter please follow the directions below by Wednesday 11/19/08. This giveaway is open to anybody in the USA.
There are two ways to enter.

After we all ate some I asked what they liked about the Cocoa Puffs Combos. Here are the pros they gave me along with some of my thoughts.
- They stayed crunchy through the entire breakfast where many cereals go soggy by the end.
- They were sweet and the vanilla flavor was very good.
- Although the box looks small there is a lot of cereal in it.
- Even though they look a lot like Cocoa Puffs they have a very different taste.
- They make excellent snacks - just grab a handful and go.
- The baby, 15 months, couldn't really voice his opinion but he was extremely excited about these combos. I tried to get it on video because it was very funny but you know how kids are - as soon as you turn on the camera they always stop doing whatever it is you were trying to record.
There are a few cons but not many. These are my personal cons - not my childrens'.
- Even though General Mills has tried over the years to make their cereals more healthy, the added sugar in these Combos means they aren't all that good for you.
- They were hard to come by. We had to stop at a lot of stores before we found them.
- The box of Cocoa Puffs and the box of Cocoa Puffs Combos looked very similar making it hard for me to spot them on Winn-Dixie's vast cereal isle.
- The vanilla flavor totally over-rides the cocoa flavor. This isn't exactly a con for me, I love the vanilla flavor, but some people might be a tad disappointed.
