A Freebie For Him!

Harbor Freight Tools occasionally has really cool freebies. If you have a location near you, find out here, you can take this coupon in today to get a free 6 piece Pittsburgh screw driver set. This set comes with a lifetime warranty, too, so I don't get the impression that it is your average cheapo screwdriver.

This coupon is good from December 22nd through December 24th. Your printer may try to print all the coupons. I just highlighted them and then pushed cancel on my printer after my freebie coupon printed so I didn't waste any ink.

This could make a great stocking stuffer for your hubby or even a young son. Boys love tools.

I don't know what it does but the reviews were a little revealing. Apparently he looks pretty scary to a lot of people and is annoying. Perfect as a gag gift!

Thank you to imommies for passing this one along!

Gift stash and benevolence shelf

This week at Walgreen's they are having a great $.39 sale on a lot of different things. Many of these items are great stocking stuffers and some are nice for teens going off to college or moving out on their own.
Here is a few gift ideas.

• Walgreen's has plastic pencil cases on sale 2 for $1. If you get them you can fill them with great cheap items like Penny's kids crayons, glue sticks, and colored pencils. Office Depot has Westcott 5″ Stainless Steel Scissors for $.25 each (limit 5) and Sharpie Fine-Point Permanent Markers 5-Packs are free after $4.49 Mail-in Rebate. Add in a cheap coloring tablet from the dollar store to make a really cool and inexpensive gift!
• There are also stoneware bowls on sale for $.39 each at Walgreen's. This isn't an entire set of dishes, just the bowls, but a freshly on-their-own college kid will definitely appreciate them.
• Walgreen's has 2 sheets Hallmark gift wrap are $.39 each as well as 24 sheets tissue paper.

I got to thinking a bit ago that even if I wouldn't use any of this stuff as a gift it is all very inexpensive and can be set aside for somebody in need. A set of bowls can go a long way for a family who has lost a lot in a hurricane, flood, fire, or other tragedy. School supplies can always be used at churches or for families who cannot afford what is on the 'must have' list. Small things go a long way for those enduring crisis.

So, along with my gift stash I am going to be adding a benevolence shelf link and I will try to find at least one thing to add to the benevolence shelf each week. We are getting a lot of stuff at amazing deals - we are a blessed family. I am excited to be able to share the love and I challenge you to do the same according to your ability.

Free Planet Heroes DVD from Mattel!

Yet another item for your gift stash!

Mattel is giving away Planet Hero DVDs! All you need to do is go here and fill out the order form. No payment is required and shipping is covered, too. It can take up to 3 months to arrive so make sure you get your now to have it in time for stocking stuffing. This would also make a good gift topper, too, if you don't plan to use it for Christmas. I have 5 boys. This will definitely be in one of their stockings.

Free After Rebate - Hannah Montana DVD Game

Circuit City has this Hannah Montana DVD game for 1/2 price. For $15 you can get the game here, then fill out and send in this $15 rebate form. If you purchase two (and I don't see anything on the rebate form saying you can only do this deal once) you will even get free shipping!
You have until 9/29/2008 to purchase this game but I don't know when the sale ends. Oh, and it is only good for online customers.

All for the cost of tax and a stamp. A lot of companies are letting you submit rebates online now. I don't know Circuit City's policy on this but if you choose to do this deal you may want to look into it.

This a perfect item for the gift stash!

*I cannot vouch for this game or the show it is based on. We don't have 'TV' but I do know that Hannah Montana is quite popular with the teen Christian girl crowd.

**It is your responsibility to read rebate forms carefully and follow the directions! However, I have learned from sending in rebates that most companies are quite forgiving of minor errors.

The gift stash - free or unbelievably cheap!

This post is specially dedicated to building a gift stash for free or very cheap. Whenever I run across a great gift idea that is also extremely frugal I will add it to the list here along with a description on how you can pick the item(s) up yourself.

Most of the items I list here are ones I have purchased or ordered for free myself, however, not always. Although I love to post great deals here there are times when making the trip to the store is just not in my best interest. Even still, I will do my best to pass on all great deals I find whether I take advantage of them or not.

1.The week of July 28th, 2008 at Office Depot Ticonderoga Dry Erase Marker 4-packs are $3.99 with a $3.99 mail-in rebate making them free in the end! Pair this with Walgreens $0.50 Dry Erase Boards to make a great gift set for your gift stash!

2. The Hannah Montana DVD Game is on sale online at Circuit City for $15 and they are offering a $15 mail-in rebate if you buy before 9/29/08. Read up on the specifics here.

9.Free or cheap makeup kits make great gifts for new moms (non-sensitive types who wear makeup - you don't want to hurt anybody's feelings) or graduating teens. Check out this one to get a free mineral makeup kit! This kit may seem small but it has lasted me more than a couple weeks now and I still have plenty left. These are good quality samples!

If you find a gift stash deal pass it on! Leave me a comment or email me and if it fits the extremely frugal nature of The Gift Stash I will pass it on to our other readers!
